NAB HD Radio Multicast Award Winners Announced

WASHINGTON -- NAB announced today two winners of the NAB HD Radio Multicast Award. KBCO-FM Denver's "The Studio C Channel" and WRIF-FM Detroit's "Riff2" are the first stations to receive the award. The awards will be presented by NAB President and CEO David K. Rehr during the keynote address, sponsored by BMO Capital Markets, on Thursday, September 27, at The NAB Radio Show in Charlotte.

"NAB is proud to recognize two stations that have maximized their program offerings through HD Radio multicasting," said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. "The entries received demonstrate a wide array of diverse program offerings provided by radio stations across America. We salute KBCO and WRIF for being at the forefront."

The HD-2 programming for both WRIF-FM Detroit (owned by Greater Media) and KBCO-FM Denver (owned by Clear Channel) can be heard on the stations' respective Web site:

The NAB HD Radio Multicast Award was established to recognize stations utilizing HD radio technology to its fullest through innovative or groundbreaking programming on a multicast channel. Stations were asked to submit information including programming, on-air personalities, promotions and branding elements, as well as anything else that established the multicast channel with a separate identity from the main station. The winners were selected by a special task force, whose decision resulted in a tie for top honors.
