Discover HD Radioâ„¢ at the 2007 New York International Auto Show

As auto industry execs and attendees from around the world gather at this year’s New York International Auto Show to view an impressive collection of cutting-edge design and remarkable innovation, they will get the chance to discover the latest technology that is HD Digital Radio in a huge way. There will be an exciting mobile HD Digital Radio promotion debuting on Saturday, April 7th and continuing throughout the show.
 
On the premises of New York’s famed Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, HD Digital Radio will unleash a twelve-person street team. On Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th, the group will paint Gotham orange as they fan out in orange jump suits to hand out VIP badges that direct them to a special web landing page where they register to win one of 40 Directed table top HD Radios.
 
HD Radio will also be hitting the streets with five mobile billboards featuring new HD Radio creative (attached) with night illumination, which will be covering the surrounding Javits Center area for the first and second weekends of the show (Sat-Sun 4/7-8 and Fri-Sun 4/13-15). With 2007/8 factory-installed options in BMW, Jaguar and Hyundai and new automotive receivers/converter devices coming to the market, the New York Auto Show is the ideal place to spread the HD Radio buzz.


Background on HD Digital Radio’s Relationship with Automakers

In 2006, BMW was the first automaker to sign on the dotted HD line with their announcement of including the technology as an option for their 2006/7 5, 6 and 7 series car models. Later, the automaker expanded its pioneering position in providing high-quality audio systems by becoming the first automotive firm to offer a factory-installed digital HD Radio receiver as an option across its entire product line. In addition to BMW, Hyundai and Jaguar will continue the momentum to stay on the leading edge of automotive technology by offering HD Radio in their premium sedans scheduled for introduction in 2008.
