On July 14th 2022, The Asociación Mexicana de Ingenieros y Técnicos en Radiodifusión (AMITRA) and Xperi presented the hybrid one-day seminar “HD Radio. All you need to know about digital radio” in Cinco Radio facilities located in Puebla City, Mexico.


This seminar focused on how HD Radio Technology works, its main features, all the technical aspects that the broadcasters must consider before adopting digital radio as part of their technology stack, and also how radio stations can monetize and gain additional revenue with HD Radio.


In addition, broadcast equipment manufacturers Nautel, Gates Air, and BE also attended the seminar. They had the opportunity to present and explain how their HD Radio equipment works, and they were also able to chat with various attendees one-to-one after the event ended.


Puebla City is a great Mexican HD Radio success story: all the radio stations located there have done a great technical implementation of HD Radio technology and are a good use case for the rest of the country. As part of the event, the attendees were able to experience live how seven Puebla City-based radio stations who adopted HD Radio technology looked in a real vehicle implementation in a Toyota Sienna. As an added bonus, they were also able to tour the facilities of Cinco Radio, an HD Radio broadcaster, and were able to gain a deep understanding of the equipment the station uses for its digital broadcasting.

The total attendance of this hybrid event was 120 people (63 face-to-face attendees and 57 virtual).
