On October 11, 2002, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) endorsed. iBiquity’s HD Radio™ technology as the digital solution for AM and FM radio FM broadcasters are authorized to broadcast digitally on a full time basis. In March 21, 2007, the FCC authorized two additional services – multicasting and datacasting – and AM HD Radio nighttime broadcasting. The FCC and industry groups continue to analyze new features of the HD Radio™ system and extensions of existing services.
